Meeks is a chat that lets the people you support, support workers and staff from different organizations talk without exchanging contact details. No account or app is needed. Share a room URL and approve who joins to use messages, files and video calls.
Creates a random URL. People you share it with request to join and enter once a member approves them.

Letters, numbers, "-" and "_" only. If a room with this name exists you request to join it; otherwise a new room is created.
Why we built Meeks
In PAPS's support work, we sometimes accompany the people we support together with other organizations. For visits to a hospital, a welfare office or a lawyer, the person and several support workers need to confirm where to meet and when they will arrive.
But exchanging support workers' personal phone numbers or social media accounts is not always appropriate. The person we support may not want to give their contact details to outside organizations. Some support workers have no work phone, and each organization may use different communication tools.
Even so, we do not want the communication that support depends on to break down. Meeks grew out of these challenges on the ground.

The person, the accompanying support worker and the staff joining at the hospital confirm the meeting place and arrival time.

Support workers from different organizations coordinate plans before and after the appointment.

People who cannot share an internal tool such as Teams or Slack get a temporary place to talk.
Share only what communication needs
With Meeks you can start talking without exchanging phone numbers or social media accounts. Joining a room requires approval from a participant. Messages, files and calls are end-to-end encrypted, and messages are not stored on the server.
Meeks is a way for people seeking support and those supporting them to stay connected. We want everyone involved in support to be able to reach each other when needed, whatever their organization or device.
